In the years of late 90’s and 2000’s, a Sub-Divisional town of Durgapur which more or less had rustic influence in life style of people, witnessed a sea change with rapid industrialization under the initiative of the Government. Due to this change in the cosmopolitan culture and heavy population gathering from all over the country in the Steel City Durgapur there are growing demands for various customers’ services with development fast emerging in all fields especially Healthcare, Education, cultural centre besides other big manufacturing units like Durgapur Steel Plant, Alloy Steel Plant, various Thermal Power Plants with their ancillary industries. With such advent of the Smart City, there are boosts of recreation & entertainment, shopping malls, magnificent parks and hotels and hospitability centers in all around the town.
With such intention to cater the needs of the newly emerging cosmopolites of Durgapur and all around, few educated young men of Durgapur Steel Township under the experienced leadership of Sri Supriyo Ganguly (popularly known as “Shyamal Da”) entered into a venture of eatery houses in the year 2003. Strong dedication, quality, hard work and determination to serve better with affordable means placed them to the challenging world of entrepreneurship by avoiding other easy alternative means of spending life with a mere clerkship employment. Thus, they established “NABANNA”. The “Nabanna” is a popular festival of Bengalis celebrated in the Bengali month Agrahayana falling between November and December. People offer the newly harvested rice to Devi Lakshmi, who symbolises wealth, fertility and fortune. It is an ancient festival of Bengalis. Naming the firm “Nabanna” was remembering this festival of Bengali tradition and the motto was to spread essence, flavors of Bengali tradition, all varieties of Indian foods among the food lovers through modern art of technology but to retain tradition to feel all the best taste of Bengal.
Initially the firm was engaged in the field of providing catering, Restaurant, event management and other allied business. Then the firm had the honor to operate the Community hall cum guest house “Mangalik” at City Centre, Durgapur owned by Durgapur Municipal Corporation. The hard work, team building and the goodwill makes the building a trustworthy centre for food & Hospitality solution in Durgapur for people. Also we are the only successful operator to provide ample revenues to the Corporations exchequers from its inception in Durgapur.

At Present, the firm & trade name “Nabanna” has been changed to “PARBAN” to comply the restriction imposed for using the name of the present state secretariat building of government of West Bengal as per order No.635-Home(Cons)/RIM-63/2016 dated 28/07/2016 of Govt. of West Bengal.
